When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure

Arun Akash Dhir was born at 7am, on a crisp March morning, in Burton-Upon-Trent.
“Arun” means dawn light, and symbolises the rich, red, and earthy colors that appear in the morning sunrise.
“Akash” in Sanskrit means “sky”.

Aruns first word was “shoes”. He loved going out and playing, and would be desperate to put on his shoes to go into the garden or to the park.
Arun, from a young age, knew what he wanted and how he wanted to do things. He was head strong and determined.
He would regularly refer to himself in the third person, but as he could not pronounce his name, he would call himself “Ade”.
Arun was very close to his extended family, and was surrounded by love. He spent all annual holidays and more with his grandparents. aunts, uncles and cousins and travelled around Europe with family.

As a toddler, Arun loved to swim. He continued swimming until 2016 (Aged 12), becoming an accomplished swimmer.

Arun was very creative, having an artistic streak. He made many models and drawings, including a clay model of an elephant, which hung proudly in the garden for many years.

Between the ages of 6 and 8, Arun attended StageCoach Performing Arts, learning to sing (quite unsuccessfully!) and act. This is perhaps where his later performances on camera came from.
Despite many hours of tutoring for both playing the guitar and drums, Aruns talents were not in music!
Arun loved Lego. He would spend hours building motorised models with his brother and then proudly displaying the creation they had made.

Between the ages of 6 and 10, Arun caught the gardening bug. He loved to grow food in the garden, starting with simple potatoes and onions, although very rarely ate his own vegetables!
His most successful harvest was in 2013.
Arun even helped out at the allotment, digging, planting and growing vegetables – On this occasion deciding to wear trainers!
Arun enjoyed online gaming, something that he would continue to do into his late teens.
He started playing Clash Of Clans and then moved onto Minecraft and Terraria.
He very often created videos of him playing these games.
Arun always had a plan. Or an idea. It was normally something quite crazy. Such as when he decided to build a trebuchet in the garden, using bamboo sticks, clothes pegs and a flower pot.
Arun enjoyed experimenting with different characters, and often recorded himself in fun and silly ways.
Having received a box of clip-on moustaches as a birthday gift, one of his favourite characters was Mr. Moustache, which can still be found on YouTube!
Much of Mr. Moustache’s content has only recently been found by us. Arun would be so very embarrassed we were now sharing this….

Arun was always trying to negotiate and do “deals” with us and his brother. He would often create contracts about getting paid for chores or increasing his bed time, in exchange for good behaviour!

In 2015, Arun and his brother received two female Guinea Pigs. They were named after two characters in Lego Ninjago, Lloyd and Cole.
Arun spent many hours taking photos and making videos of the Guinea Pigs, although he didn’t enjoy feeding them every morning or cleaning out their hutch as much.
Arun started developing online content in 2014, under the name “Ade Wadey Woo” (a nickname given to him by his parents).
He quickly changed that to “Ink Surfer” and “Demon Like”. Content under all names still exists.

Aruns final online pseudonym, for various gaming sites and applications like Discord, was “Clink”. Arun wrote code (and a virus!) under this name and even managed to monetise some of his work on GitHub.

Many of his online friends still refer to him as Clink.
And he will be remembered as the person who broke the Warwick School website, using “Biggie Cheese”.

Arun enjoyed watching anime movies. He completed a number of series.

Arun loved his milk hot chocolate, and every night, he would make a mug. He would argue that the instructions said “three heaped teaspoons”, and took this literally.
Each morning, we would find an empty mug, with a thick layer of hot chocolate at the bottom and a teaspoon, used too scoop out as much as he could.
Arun had a dry wit and humour that was unique to him. He was able for formulate 1-line quips in seconds, and respond to any situation with a witty and clever remark.

Arun joined Warwick School in 2016, and although his first few years were quiet, he excelled in all subjects.
From Year 9 onward, he made some strong friendships that lasted. His friends were loving and loyal, and he spent many hours in their company.

Arun was academically bright and able. A straight ‘A’ student, he found studies easy, having achieved 9 x A* GSCEs, 1 x A GCSE and 1 ‘AS’ Level A by aged 16.
He had also achieved an A in is ‘A’ Level EPQ and was on target to achieve his predicted 4 x A ‘A’ Levels in 2023.
Arun wanted to go onto University to study Computer Science, and had submitted his application through UCAS. He was successful in gaining places at most of his chosen universities.

In December 2021, Arun started a part-time Christmas job at TK Maxx in Leamington Spa. He enjoyed the job (and the money!) that much that he stayed there 12 months and regularly worked over his contracted hours.
He even joined in on team nights out and the TK Maxx Tiktok video.
The lamp! Arun bought this from TK Maxx, and despite his pride in it, the quality and general look was a topic of much humour and disagreement in the house.
Arun had planned to take this to university with him.

On Saturday 14th January 2023, Arun left home for the final time. He travelled, via train and bus, to Button Oak, Wyre Forest where he left us that afternoon at 4:30pm, having waited to see his final sunset.
He was found on Monday 16th January 2023 at 11am.

“If you’re reading this, then you made my life a little bit more bearable, thank you”
Arun Dhir’s final letter – January 2023
We would like to thank all those that took the time to find Arun over that dark weekend, along with those wonderful people who cared for Arun in those early hours and days after he was found with love and compassion.
